Geology and Geochemistry

Carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and sulphur stable isotopes may give evidence about bacterial biomarkers involved in hydrocarbon maturation or degradation history. Similarly biomarkers (n-alkane, sterane, hopane, PAHs and isoprenoids) help to understand the geochemistry of oil from generation to maturity.
